Winds up to fifty miles an hour...
Honestly, I shouldn't complain considering the snow and cold endured over the last 6 months...so... it was a tad windy but mostly warm ;) Ran on some old out of way dirt roads so I was up to my ass in mud...woaa!! there goes the whambulance again...I meant the views from the beautiful old country roads were breath taking!

Tree Trunks
What the hell is going on today? I got on the sationary bike and it was like someone switched my chain lubriation to peanutbutter or some sh*t... My legs were just burnin from the get go. I tried some easy listening...no good. Went to hip hop... didn't cut it. Tried some classic rock... felt like I was in highschool again doing a ride with a flannel and jeans on! Nothin' worked. Just grinded the time out and let me mind drift. Can't wait until it's nice enough to get off the trainer and out on the road (on the road again, I can't wait to get...I know, enough willie)

Listen to the grumpy old guy
Seems like all I'm doing is complaining about the weather around here, but it was friggin cold on the mountain today. I went to take my son up for a half day of skiing. Down on the bottom everything seemed fine. We took a chair lift up some grumpy old guy who seemed to just have a bad disposition all together. When he said it was "friggin" cold up there, I didn't take it too seriously, considering how...well...old and grumpy he really was...he was also on the money;)
My son and I, basically frozen from the ride up, skied one run and hung it up for the day. I was pretty cold, but my son forgot his neck warmer, so it was just about impossible to salvage the ski day. We got back to the house (alot warmer off the mountain) and it looks like we'll all (wife t00) take a light run out around the neighborhood to get some excersize in...we live to ski another day :)

Crappy ass weather...
Shortened my run by a half hour today. Partly due to the crappy ass weather. The other part due to the fact that I couldn't turn my back on a snow ball fight (my son and wife were eggin' me on). So I took my son down to Chinatown (basically means I waffled him with snowballs), and my wife got some cheap throws in and hid in the house (that's how she rolls;)

Second post EVER!
Damn muddy waters was a good bluesman! Wish I could of seen him when he was alive. Got to see James Cotton several months ago in Washington DC. Now that was incredible! It's not like he could play a lick of harp anymore (or at least the way he use to), it was his presence. It was like seeing a piece of history with your own eyes. Something that wouldn't be around much longer. I say "something" because some men represent more then themselves, they represent an era. Sure, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, and a hand few of other greats who helped bring about the greatness of Chicago Blues, will still be around, but they won't last forever. It's not like Rock, or rap, where someone's there to pick up the torch and bring the music in a new direction, you know.
I listen to alot Muddy Waters, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hound dog Taylor, and others before I go out on a long run (or hit the crack pipe ;). It seems to calm me for that long kind of steady rythm you need to find when your out there for a couple hours on the road.

First time posting ever
Tomorrow I'll be thirty seven, so I thought it was only appropriate to start righting down everything I do from here on in ;). I started running about four years ago primarily for weight loss and found a real passion for other sports along the way (biking, swimming, injuring myself in the ski/snowboarding terrain park trying to look cool with my eight year old son D.).
I've been able to accomplish some goals along the way ( loosing 70lbs., a couple marathons, a half and full Ironman), but most importantly, I found away to get off of sugar (friggin cane sugar is like a drug to the Bevacqui family, I kid you not). This problem has plagued me for most of my life, even as a kid. I found that I can't kick it entirely. I go to a movie once a week, (either by myself, with a friend, or I take my son) and chow down on some serious Juji fruits, Mike & Ikes, whatever and then am good for the rest of the week. I know this doesn't work for alot of people but it works for me.
Goals for the up coming year: more skiing with my son, more wrestling with my daughter, more quality time with my wife, and a couple more races if possible (Key Bank Vermont Marathon, Ottowa Ironman, VT 50k).
I'll be logging in once or twice a week to piss and moan about a workout related injury, my son or daughter fighting with each other, or just to share some funny sh*t that goes on in my life. tune in.
